The Agates in Nature series: Jingle Bells Agate

Lake Superior Agate Inc. and Dan Wiemer Fine Art, LLC proudly showcase the “Agates in Nature Series.” Each of the five limited edition 9” x 9” watercolor litho prints features a different animal indigenous to Minnesota along with one of the finest Lake Superior Agate specimens ever found. Dan Wiemer has captured the wonder and vivid colors of both these beautiful creatures and the highly coveted state Gemstone of Minnesota in their natural setting.

Jingle Bells

A Mayfly (Ephemera guttulata) rests quietly on top of one of the finest Lake Superior Agates ever found. This 4.25-pound treasure was found almost completely buried in the gravely sand of a tract of land recently graded during the construction of a golf course. The lucky discoverer, David Stodola, found the agate new Cloquet, Minnesota, in the Spring of 1988.
